About me

I’m Trina Lo. I help Calgary businesses grow through connection.

I support Calgary’s business community by helping people connect, become more visible, and find practical ways to grow through relationships, networking, and barter.

Trina Lo

My work sits where Calgary business, publishing, marketing, networking, and barter meet.

My businesses and community work

I work through a few connected channels: marketing, publishing, barter, events, and relationships.

Why networking matters

I see networking as business infrastructure.

I believe networking is an important part of growth and success. Not because people need more business cards, but because strong relationships create trust, referrals, collaboration, support, and access to opportunities people would not find on their own.

That belief runs through my work. I publish, connect, market, introduce, and help people understand where value can move through a community.

The work behind it

My work has always lived at the intersection of communication, community, and growth.

My career spans 25+ years across advertising, magazine publishing, graphic design, social media, and business coaching. I started in magazine publishing at Avenue Magazine, and I’ve taught and mentored through the Canadian Government Self-Employment Program.

I founded FreshInk Communications, a boutique marketing and design firm with past brand work for Mark’s, BMW, Sheraton Hotels, and WestJet. Today I’m Publisher & Editor-in-Chief of Business Buddha Magazine, and I own the BarterPay Calgary franchise, growing organized barter across Alberta since April 2024.

I’m a BNI member, and I’ve spoken publicly on barter, including a session for Alberta Women Entrepreneurs.
